Hello!
This brief module of information and a quick activity is designed to get you familiar with some of the basic concepts of how to use Microsoft OneDrive and SharePoint. This module is part of our larger new hire training and professional development framework so take your time and get used to finding things and learning how to navigate the structures of your OneDrive and the museum SharePoint. By the end of the module you will know how to navigate to your OneDrive, create and share a file, and make a comment on a SharePoint page. If you have any questions feel free to ask me (Bill) in person when you see me, or by email: btripodi@visitmosac.org. I am currently here Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, but feel free to reach out to my by email any time for anything at all. Jesus, Emily, Kathryn, and Brynna are also great resources to reach out to with any questions or concerns.
Who am I?
My name is Bill Tripodi, and I created this module and much of our professional development platform here at MOSAC. I am a certified special education teacher with about 10 years of classroom experience, a few years of technology help desk experience, and I am currently a Master's student at Cal State Fullerton soon to finish my degree in Educational Technology.
What you will need:
Your MOSAC login (shouldn't be a problem as you're already logged in and seeing this)
An open desktop in the education office
About an hour of time on your schedule, less depending on your familiarity with the content
How this works:
You will click on the link below and it will take you to the module page. There are four steps in the module. The first just shows you an easy way (but not the only way!) to access the apps in the Office365 suite. The second will show you the basics of what OneDrive is and how to use it. The third shows you how SharePoint acts differently from OneDrive. The last is a simple activity to show you got the idea.
Next Steps:
After this you will have the opportunity to access a second module about Yammer and some other tools such as commenting on documents or collaborative live documents that we use on SharePoint to work with each other all the time!
Here is the link to the module. Have fun and reach out if you need anything at all!
